Planning a wedding proposal can be an event within itself. You will be consumed for months, thinking about where, when, and how to pop the question; you will need some marriage proposal ideas. Some choose restaurants, birthdays, special gatherings, or just a simple walk on the beach. No matter what mode, you choose you may have a very happy bride to be on your hands. But not everyone is certain how to do this, or what you check for before popping the question. Below are a few marriage proposal ideas, to help you ask for the hand, of that special lady in your life.
Imagine going down on one knee, asking the most important question you will ever ask and hearing an unfavorable response. This is not something you want to go through. Make sure you have an idea of what your girlfriend is going to say. Most couples discuss getting married and their expectations, at one point or another in their relationship. Before you ask her to marry you, get an idea of what she thinks, and whether she actually wants to marry you. For some, this is clear in their interactions and a discussion may not even be warranted.
So you know she wants to be with you forever and you her; but do you know her ring finger size? Do you know what rings she prefers? Do you know what type of ring to purchase? The cost? Or even what to look for when purchasing a diamond? These questions you should get answered before you go ring shopping.
Some women do not require extravagant surprises. In this case, you can take her ring shopping, and let her pick out her ring. If you are on a budget, ensure you have an affordable selection waiting for your perusal. Do your research and prep work. You can also, pull in the cooperation of her friends and family to know her dislikes, or subtly get answers from her over the course of your relationship. Another important bit of information you need, is what are the four C’s of buying a ring. This is carat, cut, color, and clarity. Many things are on the market that looks like a diamond, so beware. Your lady might actually not prefer a diamond, which maybe rare, so find out what type of stone, and setting she may prefer.
Insure your ring. This has been a hard and painful lesson learnt by many couples. Stones can fall out, and rings can be stolen or lost. Insuring the ring, will ensure you can have a safety net to replace it if it or the stone goes missing. One traditional practice, that is always cherished and respected, is that of asking for the hand of your future bride from her father, and getting his blessing. This sets an even stronger foundation for your relationship with her family in the future.
Remember to go down on one knee when proposing. To women it is one of the most romantic gestures. If possible record the moment for posterity; using cameras or video; get the help of a co-worker, friend or family member. Even a cooperative stranger will do. Plan out your proposal, do something that you know will wow and make your girlfriend very surprised, happy and emotional. The more emotional, the better the pictures, video and memories for later; enjoy and celebrate the moment after.
